My Story
Hello and I am excited to be sharing my stories with you. But let me share some things about me. After nearly thirty-seven years as a criminal justice and law enforcement professional and manager, I happily retired to pursue a second career as a college professor. My second career as a professor is very rewarding as I was able to return to my alma mater, Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in Tallahassee, FL, and also teach graduate courses at Tiffin University, Tiffin, OH. I have
a passion to teach crime analysis, criminal intelligence, criminal theory, and other related criminal justice courses. My students call me Dr. T. and I love it. I love creating and developing new college courses. I am also involved with training and curriculum review for the International Association of Crime Analysts (IACA).
Mentoring children and youth is near and dear to my heart. I am a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. With a varied interest in all sports, I am a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoy the Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics. Although I have never played golf, I will watch hours on end just to see Tiger Woods’ golf swing. Music and dancing are in my bones and my favorite artist is the late great, your royal badness, Prince. I also enjoy singing and even writing lyrics to express
myself. Even with all these interests and responsibilities, I have a passion for writing books, fiction and non-fiction. I literally write something every day and my overly creative mind creates chapter after chapter with new ideas for new stories. I actually have about four ideas waiting to put pen to paper. I
just completed my first trilogy, Forever My Love. Book 1, Awakened Passion, was released November 2023. Book 2, Secrets of the Hearts, and Book 3, Everlasting Love, will be released in the near future.
My love for family and friends inspire me to strive for all I can be. I have two mantras that I have instilled in my adult sons, Dominic and DiCarlo: 1) Don’t look for a role model, become one; and 2) Never put a limit on what your brain can learn. With that in mind, I have taken pen to paper to take my own advice to become a published author.
To summarize: from retired law enforcement professional to college professor to published author!!!
I am living my best life.
